Engineering Associate III
Lead project inspections and manage teams while benefiting from a solid pay range and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage; strong career growth for hands-on experience.
About the Job Offer
The Engineering Associate III position is full-time with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $33.03 to $49.54. This role is placed at an advanced, paraprofessional engineering level and includes a suite of desirable benefits: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, and tuition reimbursement.
Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED plus five years of relevant experience. College or vocational education can substitute for up to four years of experience. A valid driver’s license is required.
Daily Responsibilities & Expectations
Supervising construction inspectors and overseeing the MS4 Construction Program are the heart of this role. You’ll coordinate inspections, review plans, and ensure compliance on stormwater and regulatory matters.
Day to day, expect to manage field inspectors, review permit and construction documents, and organize plans, specifications, and project data. You will regularly interact with contractors, engineers, and property owners to resolve issues and ensure smooth project delivery.
Leadership includes establishing priorities for completion, monitoring budgets, and maintaining records of expenditures. Candidates should be comfortable compiling technical reports and working with CAD and GIS software.
There is also an emphasis on coordinating site compliance, supporting field teams, and preparing regulatory documentation when necessary. This is a great fit for someone with hands-on construction, inspection, or plan review experience.
Pros of the Position
The strong salary range and comprehensive benefits package make this job stand out in the engineering sector. Medical, dental, vision, and wellness programs support work-life balance and personal well-being.
Leadership and responsibility are at the forefront: you’ll be trusted to lead teams, coordinate major projects, and engage with a diverse range of professionals. Career development is supported through organizational stability and tuition reimbursement options.
Cons to Consider
The job may involve a heavy workload, particularly during high-volume construction periods. Supervisory duties and project coordination require effective multitasking and resilience under deadlines.
Most of your time will be spent managing others and reviewing work, so those who prefer purely technical or field-based roles may find the focus on leadership less appealing.
Verdict
This Engineering Associate III vacancy is a solid leadership role with competitive compensation, excellent benefits, and opportunity for career growth. If you have the right experience and thrive on managing projects and people, it’s a compelling opportunity to advance your engineering career.
